Stila Winter Wonderland Noire Set Look and Review
Stila is the makeup brand I cut my teeth on when I was a wee tiny preteen. It is also the brand I turned to when I seriously got into makeup. Part of the reason is their undeniably adorable packaging, cheap palettes and soft shimmery shadows. Stila has recently had a makeover and changed corporate hands. I dislike new, empowered, beauty box Stila. Please give me soft and sweet, coquettish vintage stila that can still be found at warehouse prices on Ebay. So he is a cheers to vintage Stila and thier shadows!
I did this look using two of the shadow from the winter wonderland noire set which I got on ebay for about 14$ for everything. Funny thing is that I was actually just looking for a 4 pan to store my stila shadows in that I got from the Ulta Mate Set, but when I found this deal containing 4 pan, shadows, lip glaze, and tinted moisturizer I couldnt help my self. My only qulam now is that I am in the same position with 4 loose shadows and I still need another pan. Arrgh. Why am I so cursed with this addiction to Ebay?
Cloud is a wonderful shimmery taupe grey, Storm is a powdery matt charcoal grey with hints of fine silver glitter, Stila Convertible Color in Lillium is possibly the most wonderful product my cheeks have ever seen, And Stila Smudge pot in Grey, indeed erroneously labeled, WILL NOT SMUDGE. Its the most long wearing eyeliner I own and is definitely waterproof. I should know, I went rafting down a river with it on and it stayed in place. Impressive.
Swatches: Smudge Pot Grey, Cloud, Storm, Convertible Color in Lillium with Flash
Same swatches in day light
I used Cloud on the lid and Storm in the crease blending it out heavily. I lined my eyes with Smudge pot in grey and went back over the line with the Storm shadow. Convertible color on my cheeks et Voila! (Face: LM primer and TM in Nude, LM translucent powder and Nars Laguna Bronzer; Eyes: shu curler, cargo lash activator; Lips; BE buxom milky pink with BB rose shimmer gloss)
Stila Shadows Rating: 9
I love how shimmery and soft they are, but they do break easily and have lots of fall out because of that texture
Stila Convertible Color: 9.5
Beautiful Pink shade that makes my whole face look awake! It stays put too, especially if you layer a powder blush on top.
Stila Smudge Pot: 8
Does not budge! But it does dry out after awhile. The pot I have now is much tackier and more claylike than when I bought it and that makes it tug more on your eye skin. But I have a feeling this is a common property of cream liners.
Give Ebay a looksee and get the Stila Winter wonderland noire set because its such a good deal. You wont be sorry.
